Brewing FAQ

How much coffee should I use per cup?

A 1:15 to 1:17 ratio is a reliable starting point β€” about 17g of coffee per 250g of water. Adjust to taste once you've got a baseline.

What grind size do I need?

It depends on the method. Coarse (like kosher salt) for French press and cold brew, medium for pour over and AeroPress, fine for espresso. Each guide walks you through it.

How fresh do the beans need to be?

Aim to brew within four weeks of the roast date. Our beans ship within 24 hours of roasting so you start with the most usable life on the bag.

Do I need an expensive grinder?

You need a burr grinder, but it doesn't have to be expensive. A consistent grind is the single biggest upgrade β€” blade grinders chop unevenly and will limit every method below.
